Fast Food Stalls in Tandang Sora

Ricky remembers that cluster of fast food stalls across the street from Glo-ri’s Tandang Sora. There was Burger Machine, of course. But there was also Beef Beep, Joe Kuan, and Elar’s Lechon.

Chocolate Milk

Ricky remembers how that circular cardboard cover on the Magnolia Chocolait bottle would sometimes fall in and how households would recycle the bottles as water containers afterwards.

Brownie

Ricky remembers Danny “Brownie” Pansalin. He became a mainstay in “Ober Da Bakod” after gaining recognition from a San Miguel Beer TV commercial.

Angelino’s

Ricky remembers Angelino’s in Katipunan, where many an Atenean has taken their date for dinner before going to a dance or some other event in school.

Greenhills Fruit Stand

Ricky remembers that alley behind the Greenhills Theater between Shoppesville and Virra Mall where there were a lot of fruit stands. They also sold fresh fruit juice and castanas all year long.

 

Birthday Cakes

Ricky remembers those children’s birthday party cakes from Goldilocks with the blue candles, the blue or red toothpaste-like gel that they use to write with, the candy flowers, and the plaster of Paris superhero figurines on top. You can choose from Batman and Robin, Superman and Wonder Woman, and Spiderman.
