Ricky remembers those plastic parachute figures that you would throw up into the air. They had deep indentations at the back but no matter how you folded up the parachute, it would never fit in there.

String Firecrackers

Ricky remembers those mini firecrackers on a string that would let out a small pop when you pull on it from both ends. You can buy them from your neighborhood sari-sari store and they would come in a box smaller than a matchbox. Does anybody remember the name of this kid-friendly firecracker?

Popular Surfing Apparel

Ricky remembers when Maui and Sons t-shirts were the rage. They had that half-man, half-shark character on all their apparel.

Vicks

Ricky remembers those Vicks Vaporub commercials where the mom would apply Vicks on her child’s chest to relieve him or her of nasal congestion.

Chocolate Milk

Ricky remembers how that circular cardboard cover on the Magnolia Chocolait bottle would sometimes fall in and how households would recycle the bottles as water containers afterwards.

Brownie

Ricky remembers Danny “Brownie” Pansalin. He became a mainstay in “Ober Da Bakod” after gaining recognition from a San Miguel Beer TV commercial.
